The commissioners court voted unanimously on Monday to file a petition with the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals for a writ of mandamus directing “the Collin County Board of District Judges to modify the Collin County Local Rules to comply with Section 26.05 of the Texas Code of Criminal Procedure.”

On Monday, the commissioners court will consider two new court orders for payments to special prosecutors in matters related to Attorney General Ken Paxton. You may recall that the commissioners court previously authorized the payment of invoices exceeding $250,000 in the same matter, pursuant to a court order from the judge of the 416th District Court.
