2018 Bond Election

May 7, 2018 | News

I’m proud of our Collin County Commissioners Court for working together to invest in the future of Collin County!

Today, the court voted unanimously to approve a county-wide bond election. This November, Collin County voters will be asked to consider three separate propositions:

  • Proposition 1: $600 million for the development of additional high-speed, limited access highways.
  • Proposition 2: $140 million for arterial roadways and thoroughfares.
  • Proposition 3: $10 million for parks and open space projects.

This bond package provides a critical and significant investment in our county transportation system, and demonstrates our ongoing commitment to economic development and opportunity.

Additionally, the commissioners court pledged today that these propositions will NOT result in a property tax rate increase. In fact, I remain hopeful that the court will actually reduce the property tax rate for a sixth consecutive year later this summer.

I concur with the commissioners court in support of all three propositions, and I look forward to serving as the next county judge of Collin County – the best place to live, work, and raise a family!
