I am exploring a run for Collin County Judge in 2018.
When I first ran for Collin County Commissioner in 2012, I made a promise to you that I would be a strong, principled conservative for the people of Collin County. I’m proud that I can boldly and honestly report that I have kept the promises I made to you – the voters, the taxpayers, and the citizens of Collin County, and it’s my sincere privilege and honor to represent you and your family on the Commissioners Court.
Today, Collin County is the jewel of North Texas and a model of excellence across the state of Texas – an exceptional community characterized by abundant economic opportunities, wonderful neighborhoods, outstanding schools, a fantastic quality of life, and a bedrock commitment to limited government and personal liberty. The foundation of our success as a county and a community is built upon caring and engaged families, a dynamic and vibrant faith community, the entrepreneurial spirit of our small businesses, and world-class corporate partners.
With the encouragement of hundreds of dear friends and Collin County neighbors who have already pledged their support, I am excited to announce today that I am exploring a run for Collin County Judge in 2018.
As we move toward our bright future, Collin County needs a strong, experienced leader who will provide a steady hand and a commitment to conservative principles. We need a leader with a vision, a plan, and a commitment to invest in the critical infrastructure of our future: transportation, criminal justice, public safety, and public health. And we need a proven conservative who will fight for you and your family; a leader with a consistent record of fiscal discipline and a dedication to limited government and reducing property taxes.
In light of Keith Self’s announcement that he will not seek reelection next year, and with the encouragement of hundreds of dear friends and Collin County neighbors who have already pledged their support, I am excited to announce today that I am exploring a run for Collin County Judge in 2018.
Over the next several months, I look forward to hearing from you and visiting with you about the future of Collin County. I would be honored to have your support and your encouragement as I consider the manner in which I can best serve the people of Collin County, and I covet your prayers for wisdom and for my family as we look ahead to next year. Rest assured, I remain committed to providing strong conservative leadership in the critical decisions of our annual budget workshop this summer, and I will be your advocate for a fifth consecutive property tax reduction this year!
My wife, Laura, and I thank you for the blessings of your friendship, your support, and your encouragement! It is truly an honor to represent you in Collin County – the best place to live, work, and raise a family!
